The funeral service was beautiful, a fitting tribute to a beautiful person, and I’m so proud that I have photographs of our wonderful priest who celebrated Christopher’s life. Funeral Photographer at Gilroes Cemetery in Leicestershire
Capturing the heartfelt moments of a farewell is a privilege, and Chris’ funeral was a day filled with love, remembrance, and dignity. As a funeral photographer and Funeral videographer in Leicestershire, I had the honor of documenting this special day, ensuring the family could cherish these memories for years to come.
A Traditional Horse-Drawn Funeral Procession
The day began at the family home, where a horse-drawn carriage from Buckminster Funerals arrived, carrying Chris’ coffin draped in a beautiful family heirloom shroud. The scene was both poignant and elegant, a true reflection of the love and care that had gone into planning his farewell.
A Memorial Service at the Church of Our Lady of Good Counsel
From there, we traveled to the Church of Our Lady of Good Counsel, Leicestershire, where family and friends gathered for a touching memorial service. The atmosphere was deeply moving as Scottish Bagpiper Paddy McGowanplayed, leading Chris into the church. Father Abbem Emmanuel, who conducted the service, spoke with warmth and compassion, offering a beautiful thanksgiving service that allowed everyone to reflect on Chris' life and legacy.
Final Farewell at Gilroes Cemetery & Crematorium
Following the service, we proceeded to Gilroes Cemetery & Crematorium for the final blessing and burial. The winter chill in the air made the moment feel even more solemn, but as the family said their final goodbyes, the sun broke through the clouds, casting a soft light over the graveside—a fitting tribute to Chris’ memory.
